I'm Carolina "Caro" Oehler, the founder of Habana Cabana Events, and I’m so happy to share a little bit about myself with you. I was born in Bogotá, Colombia, was raised under the Florida sun, and eventually made my way to the relaxed vibes of California. Along the way, I’ve been lucky to be shaped by different cultures and places, each adding something special to who I am.
My background is a mix of adaptability, friendliness, and a genuine love for bringing people together—qualities that naturally flow into the experiences I create. For me, it’s all about sharing moments that feel warm, inviting, and memorable.
My heart still skips a beat every time I think about turning someone’s special occasion into something unforgettable—those moments that stay with you long after the last puff of smoke disappears. I pull inspiration from my own journey, from my multicultural roots, my hospitality background, and from a genuine love for cigars and the connections they create. Every event I put together reflects that—approachable, welcoming, and memorable for everyone involved.
A Woman’s Journey in a Man’s World
I’ll be honest, stepping into the cigar world wasn’t the easiest. It’s a space that’s typically been run by men, but I’ve always believed in making room for myself—by showing up with passion, hard work, and a true appreciation for the craft. Back in 2014, I started a little project called Hoochly, where I shared cigar and whiskey pairings just because I loved it. It was a just passion project, but the brand grew roots through the United States and it connected me with so many amazing people who shared the same love for the culture. That experience opened doors I never expected.
Learning from Legends
That passion eventually took me to an unforgettable adventure to Nicaragua, the beating heart of premium cigar production. I still get goosebumps remembering my time with the legendary Don Arsenio Ramos, Master Blender for Aganorsa Leaf/Casa Fernández. Sitting in his home, absorbing his wisdom about cigar anatomy and blending – it was like touching the very soul of cigar craftsmanship. This experience didn't just deepen my knowledge; it ignited a fire in me to create bespoke cigar experiences that would touch people's hearts.
